If you're moving from Tacoma to Ohio, you already know this isn't a short trip. At roughly 2,370 miles, it's a serious cross-country haul — and the price range is wide enough that the company you pick can shift your budget by several thousand dollars. The upside is that Ohio is substantially cheaper than Tacoma in nearly every financial category that matters. The trade-offs are real, though, and worth understanding before you commit.
Here's what I've put together: cost data by home size and service type, the best-reviewed Tacoma movers for long-distance interstate moves, and a straight comparison of what life looks like once you land in Ohio.

Here's a closer look at each one before you pick up the phone.
Mountain Moving & Storage
Address: 9413 47th Ave SW Bldg 14 Suite E, Lakewood, WA 98499 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | Yelp: 33 reviews | Google: 159 reviews | BBB: A+ Reviews: 84% positive / 12% negative
Mountain Moving has been in operation for 62 years — DOT #885643, state license #885643, DOD certified. That's a meaningful track record, and the customer feedback largely backs it up. Across 179 reviews, the consistent themes are efficient crews, careful handling, and professional conduct. For military families moving through Joint Base Lewis-McChord, DOD certification is a practical plus.
Where they fall short: a handful of customers report difficulty resolving damage claims, and communication can stall when problems arise after the job. That's a pattern worth raising upfront if you're moving fragile or high-value items across 2,300+ miles.
Services: Local, interstate, international, packing/unpacking, pianos, hot tubs, pool tables, art, antiques, crating, storage, safes. Accepts cash and credit card.
All Ready Moving & Storage
Address: 1690 Marine View Dr., Suite D, Tacoma, WA 98422 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | Yelp: 36 reviews | Google: 55 reviews | BBB: A+ Reviews: 92% positive / 6% negative
A 92% positive rate across 95 reviews is one of the cleaner records in the Tacoma market. In business 21 years, DOT #2083124. The feedback pattern is consistent: communicative crews, quick execution, and staff that handles the stress of a major move professionally. For a long haul like Tacoma to Ohio, that communication piece matters more than people realize — you want a company keeping you updated over a 7-to-18-day delivery window, not going quiet once the truck leaves.
The complaints that show up — unexpected final bills and occasional packing quality issues on complex moves — aren't unusual for this industry. Ask specifically about their estimate process and whether quotes are binding before you sign.
Services: Local, interstate, international, packing/unpacking, pianos, art, antiques, crating, storage. Accepts credit card.
Olympic Moving & Storage Inc.
Address: 7010 150th St SW #102, Lakewood, WA 98439 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | Yelp: 17 reviews | Google: 93 reviews | BBB: A+ Reviews: 81% positive / 16% negative
Olympic has operated since 1903 — over 120 years makes them one of the oldest movers in Washington still running. State license #1809, DOT #586615. The 81% positive rate across 136 reviews is solid, though the 16% negative rate is higher than I like to see. The complaints follow a familiar pattern: estimates that didn't match the final bill, occasional damage, and slow claims processing. On the other side, customers consistently praise professional staff and efficient service.
If you're considering Olympic, pricing transparency is the thing I'd push on before signing. Ask whether your quote is binding or non-binding, and get it in writing.
Services: Local, interstate, international, packing/unpacking, pianos, crating, storage. Accepts credit card.
A2B Moving & Storage, LLC
Address: 4230 B St NW, Auburn, WA 98001 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | Yelp: 212 reviews | Google: 281 reviews | BBB: B− Reviews: 83% positive / 15% negative
A2B has the largest review base of the five — 433 reviews, over 80% positive. That volume means the feedback is representative, not a small sample that could skew easily. In business 15 years, state license #1941425, DOD certified. Customers praise efficient crews, fair pricing, and strong communication. Repeat customers are common, which tells you something.
The B− BBB grade is a minor flag — it typically reflects unresolved complaints, so if something goes wrong, follow-through may be uneven. The damage and billing issues that do appear in negative reviews often trace back to underestimated move sizes. For a move this long, get an in-person or video estimate — not just a phone quote.
Services: Local, interstate, international, packing/unpacking, pianos, hot tubs, pool tables, art, antiques, crating, storage, safes. Accepts money order and credit card. DOD certified.
PNW Moving and Delivery
Address: 2112 109th St S Suite 203, Tacoma, WA 98444 Rating: 4.4 / 5 | Yelp: 26 reviews | Google: 397 reviews | BBB: C+ Reviews: 90% positive / 9% negative
PNW Moving has been in business 9 years — DOT #2919585, state license #2919585. A 90% positive rate across 241 reviews is strong for a company still building its reputation. Customers consistently describe fast, hardworking crews who regularly finish under the estimated time. The BBB grade of C+ is lower than ideal, and for a cross-country haul to Ohio that's worth weighing. The negative reviews — under 10% — point to occasional damage and unprofessional behavior. The exception rather than the rule, but worth knowing before you book.
Services: Local, interstate, international, packing/unpacking, pianos, art, crating, storage. Accepts credit card.
